The first Vietnam Summit in Japan was held at JASSO International Convention Center, Tokyo on November 16, 2019. With the theme "Make in Vietnam – Opportunities and Challenges", the forum is a place to connect and gather a wealth of knowledge from experts, policymakers and businesses. They in turn help to build and develop the Vietnamese community in Japan as well as contribute to Vietnam's development. This is the largest-ever event of the Vietnamese intellectual community in Japan, with the participation of more than 500 guests who are representatives of various ministries and agencies of the Vietnamese Government and more than 50 leading researchers and experts in and outside Japan.

RIKKEISOFT is one of the largest Vietnamese corporations which has grown exponentially over seven years.
RIKKEISOFT is currently the largest Vietnamese IT enterprise in the country of the rising sun with a turnover of up to tens of millions of dollars each year. Recognizing the important mission of connecting the intellectual resources of the Vietnamese business community in Japan, RIKKEISOFT participated in organizing the Vietnam Summit in Japan 2019 as one of its diamond sponsors.
As a leading IT enterprise in Vietnam, since 2019, RIKKEISOFT made a strategic investment in advanced technology and established a subsidiary specializing in Artificial Intelligence, named RIKKEI AI. At the summit, RIKKEISOFT represented the IT business sector in discussing the future of Vietnam's software outsourcing market in Japan as well as the trend of developing artificial intelligence (AI) in the context of the Vietnamese market.
According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs' IT personnel report (METI), the shortage of IT human resources in Japan continues increasing exponentially. Researchers show that by 2030, Japan will lack about 590,000 IT engineers. As a result, this could be a great opportunity for Vietnam's software outsourcing market, especially in the context that the number of Vietnamese living in Japan is currently very large, ranking third only after South Korea and China. Unlike its competitors, RIKKEISOFT differentiates itself by not being the cost leader but by being the quality leader. The company commits itself to enhancing the quality of Vietnamese outsourcing along with the value of IT engineers for the next 10 to 20 years. That is why RIKKEISOFT does not just stop at simple machining but intends to gain foothold in chain analysis and more complex and active designs.

However, the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is believed to affect every aspect of the economy, especially productivity. Automation-inducing production cost in developed countries becomes relatively cheaper than labor-inducing production cost in developing countries. Export industries of Vietnam such as software outsourcing are predicted to be affected by this trend. This poses a challenge for Vietnam’s economy since it still relies greatly on exports. Because of that, it is important to focus on the development of artificial intelligence for quality utilization and performance enhancement in Vietnamese outsourcing. Focusing on analyzing domestic software in the outsourcing market and providing solutions to improve export net value and specialization, Mr. Bùi Quang Huy, Director of Rikkei Japan gave the audience a transparent view of the issue, while also questioning the direction of the software outsourcing market in Vietnam in the present and immediate future.
